2024 Week 9
Power Rankings

scumdogs (grrouchie) [7-2]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 1

"Things are getting heated up as it's starting to get to crunch time for the playoffs and while the Scumdogs were only the 5th highest scoring team in the league at 125 points (WOW, things blew up this week) they still put together a dominant game and won by 25 points.  Lamar Jackson continues to be the driving force behind this team with over 30 points while Jefferson almost got to 20 and Mixon put up another 16.  Breece Hall and Jonathan Taylor were the weak points at slightly under 10 and this team is really clicking.

However, they cannot afford to rest because some other teams are coming out with serious fire power right now."

Slattery's Ranking: 1

"I mean, what more is there to say about this team that hasn't already been said? I guess we could talk about how the Scumdogs technically underperformed thanks to a few down weeks from players like Jonathan Taylor and Breece Hall, but that would just be grasping at straws.

This team is dominant, their manager knows it, the league knows it, and it's up to the rest of the league to figure out a way to take them down so they don't repeat."

Michael Scott's Tots (BaileyOwen) [7-2]

Change From Last Week: +1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 2

"Great Scott, the TOTS nearly dropped 170 points this past week.  Josh Allen, Kamara and the improbably JSN all threw down 20+ bombs.  Ekeler put up another 19 while his old bones are proving to be very valuable right now.  The only dud this week was Coleman but that didn't matter as they  put foot in ass and absolutely destroyed Dirty Mike's Boys."

Slattery's Ranking: 2

"I'd like to issue an apology to the Michael Scott's Tots for my comments the rest of the season because they sure proved me wrong this week. This squad is getting hot at just the right time, and should easily be able to carry this momentum for the rest of the season ... assuming some of the question marks on their team don't implode. (Hey, I said I was sorry, but I never said I was done.)

Javonte Williams has been looking rough for a few weeks now, and given how mobile Bo Nix has been, I'm not sure he'll be the reliable starter BaileyOwen needs for the playoffs. Also, losing Keon Coleman, who has looked good for a few weeks now, to a write injury might be a challenging hurdle to jump. Now's the time to see if BaileyOwen has what it takes to manage this team from good to great."

Delta Squad (OneTyrell) [7-2]

Change From Last Week: -1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 3

"So, dropping delta to #3 seems harsh and I have no real rhyme or reason for it other than I'm hoping to discourage them into performing worse.

You cannot put this loss on the team though as they put up 136 and lost.  136 is almost assured a victory, but Team CodyCast wanted it more.   Barkley putting up over 30 points is proving to be dangerous week in and week out, and even getting a 22 point performance out of first round bust QJ?  Maybe not a bust after all, maybe just was taking the slow path to relevance?  The Delta Squad is a dangerous team and if MHJ figures out how to play they could become unstoppable."

Slattery's Ranking: 3

"Delta Squad put up points this week like it was nobody's business, kind of. Someone decided to give Marvin Harrison Jr and Kyle Pitts the day off, and those two starts lost them the game. Hopefully this is the kind of loss that OneTyrell can learn from and these kinds of mistakes won't be made again."

NotGreatBob (NotGreatBob) [6-3]

Change From Last Week: +1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 4

"There will come a day when NGB is not a playoff contending team and is on the outside looking in, but 24 points from Daniels, 28 points from Achane, 20 points from Hubbard and 1.8 points for Olave is not going to let that happen.

Olave getting concussed as much as Tua, Zach Moss on the IR Mike Evans with whatever ailment he has and Diggs going out for the year.  Even the mighty Burks on IR cannot slow down NGB who keeps putting up points and keeps winning games.

Geesh, what a stacked team."

Slattery's Ranking: 4

"NotGreatBob easily has the most injured roster in the league, but yet they keep finding ways to win and win handily. Achane might be this team's saving grace for the remainder of the season as he is BALLING OUT. Losing Olave to another concussion has to sting as well, but replacing him in the line up with a soon to be healthy Mike Evans or Brian Robinson Jr seems like a huge win for this team."

ShivaBlasts (jwv7244) [5-4]

Change From Last Week: +1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 5

"I want to put the ShivaBlasts at #4 but they are settling in at 5 this week with another great performance.  The Blasts have made some moves and it's starting to really pay off.  This team looks dangerous and is primed to put up a fight come the playoffs.  Henry with another 24.8 points, Zay Flowers hitting 29 points propped this team up while Little Bo Peep/Nix is getting better and better every week.  Walker, Lamb, Kelce trying to get his second life going are all going to be forces, not to mention the newly acquired Kryen.

Shiva is not backing down from the challenge and teams should be worried."

Slattery's Ranking: 5

"I'm calling it now, ShivaBlasts is the team to watch in the league. Aggressive move and aggressive move seems to be working out in this team's favor as they now have a juggernaut of a roster. Though, I worry that playing a banged up CeeDee might hamper this team's upside. Still, with King Henry and the Bone Zone at RB, there should be plenty of spike weeks ahead to counterbalance a potential CeeDee regression."

Dirty Mike & The Boys (HartyPGA) [5-4]

Change From Last Week: -2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 6

"Dirty Mike needs to get his act together and figure out how to fix his boys.  They are not out of it but they are slipping.  You cannot hold a loss like this against them when you are running into an angry potato who is destroying the world, but at the same time there are teams surging while this team is having wet fart problems.

Mayfield continues to shine while Dobbins found his 2nd leg again and both went over 20. Mooney and the other BRob both had good performances but London, LaPorta, Tracy and Thomas (who are all capable of going off) kinda fizzled out.

Change your diaper, wipe your tears and get ready for next week.  This was out of your hands."

Slattery's Ranking: 6

"Oh how the mighty have fallen. Yet another week where Dirty Mike has been dealt a bad hand from the schedule gods. Here's the deal: this team is good, and most of the time it's great. They also won't face a team having a blow up week every single week. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the lowest ranking Dirty Mike and The Boys have all season."

codycast (codycast) [4-5]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 7

"Team Codycast dropped a 140 bomb and wasn't the high score, but this offesnive firepower output should scare some.   With a 4-5 record they are still in the hunt for that last playoff spot and this team is playing like they could have 3 crazy victories in a row and take home a championship.  Burrow with 40+, Wilson over 25, Kupp, Dowdle and Gibbs all dropping bombs and even Taysom, I am all positions, Hill put up a nice 14.

HoooooDaddy!  Team Cody is Back Jack."

Slattery's Ranking: 7

"Oh I really want to rank Codycast higher, but I don't think I can do it while they have a losing record. Codycast is putting on a clinic for turning around a roster, and the scary part is they're only about 1-2 games away from sneaking into the playoffs. I know I said ShivaBlasts is the team to watch, but Codycast should be the team everyone at the top is scared to face if they're able to pull off the unthinkable."

PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE (lwinman) [4-5]

Change From Last Week: +2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 8

"A win is a win even if it is beating the Hapless cut and cuddly fuzzy team.  Prestige has been mostly below average and now they are going to be facing another big set back as Dak pulled a hammy or a thumb or a work ethic.  Dak had some public lip reading going on and now he is going to miss time while Trey Lance still doesn't see the field (WHat were you thinking Dallas?).  Chase Brown is a high light of this team and.... um....   Mental Note, trade for Chase Brown so he doesn't waste his talents on this roster this year.... where was I?"

Slattery's Ranking: 8

"Sigh... It pains me to say that Prestige Worldwide did just enough to get the win this week, and they did it with their star QB only playing 2/3rds of a game. Chase Brown looks awesome and might be playing himself into a nice contract extension, and younger WRs like Legette and Addison are showing their skills on the field even if the yards aren't there. Everyone probably agrees that this team's chances of winning in 2024 are very slim, but they have a lot of really nice pieces for 2025 and on."

ScotchnWhiskers (ScotchnWhiskers) [3-6]

Change From Last Week: -1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 9

"Hurts putting up over 34 is not a surprise, but when a surprise guy like D Rob goes off for 24 that's supposed to be the icing on the cake for a victory while your opponent screams at the sky about how lucky you got that some random bye week filler popped off.  But, AJ Brown and Wicks combining for only 4.6 points kills that momentum and Waddle barely getting more than that as you start to realize that Achane is taking all of Waddle's catches and Waddle is about to become just some other guy on the team because he never produces like he was supposed.

NO, I'M NOT BITTER and letting other fantasy teams sway this narrative.  Not ONE bit."

Slattery's Ranking: 9

"Here's the good for ScotchnWhiskers:

Hurts looks really good, Brown should be okay (MRI tests were negative), White is still getting volume, Westbrook-Ikhine is doing well in the WR2 role on his team, and Robinson is absolutely balling out right now.

Here's the bad:

Waddle is doing his best disappearing act, Singletary seems to have lost his job, Wicks is back to catching nothing thrown his way again, there are no decent TEs to start on this roster, and they lost again."

Fuzzy Logic (Slattery) [2-7]

Change From Last Week: -1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 10

"Listing the name of the players on the Fuzzy Logic team one would think that they are doing a lot better than they are.  This team is internally broken and they are trying to figure out where the pieces go for a run next year.   It should be all there, but there is a misfire somewhere and Coach Logic the 3rd is searching high and low for it."

Slattery's Ranking: 10

"This is a really painful loss because Fuzzy Logic had four separate chances to win the week.

1. If Puka hadn't gotten kicked out of the game (seriously, what the heck was he thinking?).

2. If Mahomes had not been benched for Darnold.

3. If Otton had caught that last TD pass he dropped at the end of regulation.

4. If Braelon Allen had been benched for Estime.

On the plus side, some of those young players Fuzzy has drafted/acquired recently do seem to be passing the eyeball test."

Get Out (Pads) [2-7]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 11

"Even with Tua back the rough season continues for Get Out.  Tua at 21, RhaMANdre at almost 20 and the 2nd (or 3rd?) coming of Adams with 18 points were not enough to pick this team up with Pitty Performances like 1.9, 5.2 from Kincaid and 4 from Etienne who was supposed to be a stud this year.  Get Out still has the skeleton of a team that should do well, so we'll see what happens next year."

Slattery's Ranking: 11

"I'm not sure where to start with Get Out right now. On paper, their team isn't necessarily bad, there are just a few players that have been performing below their expectation for a majority of the season. The fire sale started a few weeks back, and I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like DaVante Adams shipped to another team soon."

1-Putt Nine (GhostDad77) [2-7]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 12

"We can summarize this team with the same thing that plagues them week after week and that is the lack of Running backs.  Trying to ressurrect the rotting corpse of Dalvin Cook and watching Vidal Sasoon not be the guy charger fans were hoping for (yet) is proving to be a burden that is hard to get over. When you add in Tucker with 1.5 points the rest of the team is like playing with a pulled hammy, it's half assed."

Slattery's Ranking: 12

"Herbert looks awesome, Goff is playing elite football even though he's not needed every week, Josh Downs is playing good football even when the team around him is pooping their big boy pants, Jakobi Meyers is proving his contract is one of the good things the Raiders have done recently, and Jonathan Brooks should actually play this week. This could be the start of something fun for the last few weeks of the season and I'll be watching 1-Putt Nine closely to see if they can create some momentum to carry into the 2025 season."
