2024 Week 8
Power Rankings

scumdogs (grrouchie) [6-2]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 1

"The Scumdogs are on a pretty interesting run right now as this season goes on.  Scoring over 140 points again, the scumdogs continue their streak of never scoring under 120 for the season.  This past win, combined with a NGB loss puts the Scumdogs as the most winningest team in (sleeper) League History. currently. And, they also overtook Codycast and NGB for most points in (sleeper) League History.

But, the Scumdogs cannot get too cocky because several teams have traded for some firepower as the playoff push starts to happen."

Slattery's Ranking: 1

"Stop me if you've heard this one before... Yet another week where the Scumdogs are the top scorer on the week, yet another week where the Scumdogs scored 120+ points, yet another week where the Scumdogs remain #1 in PF. Consistency is king, and consistency at this high of a level locks this team has a favorite to make the championship game.

Here's something new, though. This time, the Scumdogs have this guy named Tyreek Hill on their roster with a healthy Tua behind center for the Dolphins. It won't be long before Tyreek has a blow up game and causes this team to score 180+ points on the week."

Delta Squad (OneTyrell) [7-1]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 2

"Great teams find ways to win and that is what happened to the Delta Squad this past week.

Jordan Love laid an egg, Amon Ra under performed and Barkley lost all of his Tuddies to Hurts but the Squad  leaned on MHJ, James Cook and Kyle Pitts to rise above and beat the surging ShivaBlasts.

Can the Delta Squad keep winning?  Will they over power more opponents and take that #1 ranking that they feel they deserve?  Time will tell."

Slattery's Ranking: 2

"Delta Squad took my criticism last week to heart and willed MHJ to have a dominant performance. What's funny is there's a good chance this team would have lost their match up if they didn't get that performance out of MHJ, so OneTyrell you're welcome?

Another injury to Love might hurt this team's upside over the next few weeks, but there are plenty of other super stars on this roster that getting 'just okay' games from Cousins and/or Lawrence should be morein a  than enough. They do have a somewhat tough match-up this week, so we'll find out very soon."

Michael Scott's Tots (BaileyOwen) [6-2]

Change From Last Week: +4

Grrouchie's Ranking: 3

"Playing with a chip on their shooulder for the constant potato references, This Sweet potato of a team yammed it up and took out NGB in a battle of heavy weight titans. Running with a 2 TE set is usually frowned upon, but Kittle came out and dominated, Josh Allen did Josh Allen like things and this team just took care of business while announcing to the league that they are, indeed, for real.

The Tater Tots want to wear that Hash Brown Crown this year!"

Slattery's Ranking: 3

"Apparently Michael Scott's Tots took all of my doubting from the last month to heart as they put on a clinic this week.

What's funny is I'm going to continue those doubts because there were so many points left on the field. Someone did the math, an apparently George Pickens could have had a 33+ point game this week, but no, he had to not give certain plays 100%. Additionally, Tank Dell is looking like a shell of his former self while having the biggest opportunity with Diggs and Nico out. Also, what's going on with JSN? For someone who was touted as the best WR of his class, he's done jack squat when put in the position to take over as the #1 with Metcalf out. Finally, Javonte, you have to better. You were given a gimmie with the Panthers Defense this week and you looked washed out there.

Let's end on something a bit more positive, though. Normally I'd say you're crazy if you start multiple TEs in a week, but when your TEs are David Njoku and George Kittle, that criticism isn't really valid anymore. Good job to BaileyOwen to realizing how valuable those TEs actually are."

Dirty Mike & The Boys (HartyPGA) [5-3]

Change From Last Week: -1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 4

"One would have to assume that Dirty Mike and his Boys just overlooked Fuzzy and were looking ahead to a different match-up instead of preparing for this one.  That can be the only reason why they got beat by a bottom dwelling team, right?  The Boys are not out of this as they have talent from starters to deep bench. This team is built for a deep playoff run and maybe this is the wakeup call they needed to start that run now!!!"

Slattery's Ranking: 6

"It's one thing to lose to another playoff caliber team, but it's another thing to lose to a team that is fighting for their future rather than the now. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened to Dirty Mike and The Boys against Fuzzy Logic. Hopefully this is just a situation of Steelers old where the team underestimated their opponent and played down to their level instead of a sign of things to come for this team, because this roster absolutely has the fire power to go all the way.

It was nice to see Baker perform at a high level without Godwin and Evans, it was awesome to see Bijan be Bijan, and both Tyrone Tracy and Issac Guerendo had awesome games (on the bench) getting them one step closer to being every week starts."

NotGreatBob (NotGreatBob) [5-3]

Change From Last Week: -1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 5

"J. Daniels could not save the NGBs this week as they took one too many tater tots to the dome.  BRob and Hubbard both had sub 10 point performances for the backs and on the WR side Reed went under 10 while Lockett decided to be a complete non factor.

NGB, even in this loss, scored enough to have beaten half the league.

Matches like this make me look forward to the playoffs.  The team that survives this gauntlet truly deserves that title."

Slattery's Ranking: 5

"I'm ranking NotGreatBob higher than Dirty Mike and The Boys this week because I feel like NotGreatBob had the more honorable loss. Though, one has to wonder if this roster is starting to lose some steam.

The Mike Evans injury was hard enough to overcome, but now NGB has to maneuver a Diggs season ending injury? Oof.

Jayden Daniels looked 'just okay' the past weekend against what some consider an elite Chicago defense, and the Commanders have some rough match ups coming up over the next month or so. One has to wonder if Jayden will be 'just okay' for NGB down the stretch thus removing a key piece of this roster's ability to blow up.

On the plus side, Achane is finally performing again with Tua under center for the Dolphins. Maybe not all hope is lost."

ShivaBlasts (jwv7244) [4-4]

Change From Last Week: -1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 6

"Shiva lost the match of the week to the team with the best record.  That's nothing to make you feel discouraged and hang your head.  Shiva can look at it in one of two ways.

1 - This was a brutal loss and we are not good enough to compete with the big boys...  This is not how they looked at it.

2 - We are so close, Let's get better.

This is the route they took as they made more changes for dangerous players in order to overcome the rest of the league and try to take home that trophy!!!!"

Slattery's Ranking: 4

""Shiva above Dirty Mike and The Boys and NotGreatBob? Why yes, that's exactly what I'm doing this week. I like to consider everything for my rankings, not just wins and losses on the season. For example, did you know Shiva was 1 start/sit decision away from not only beating Delta Squad but also being the #1 scorer on the week? Or how they just traded a high upside WR in Jordan Addison for a STUD RB, Kyren Williams? Or how they're currently projected outscore their opponent in week 9 by 50 freaking points?

Yes, Shiva barely lost in week 8, but thanks to recent transactions and recent performances by certain players already on the roster, this team is trending towards the sky. Don't be surprised if they only lose one more game max rest of season.""

codycast (codycast) [3-5]

Change From Last Week: -1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 8

"Were we not just talking about how Codycast seemed to have regained some momentum when they were dropping high scores on the league over the last two years?  Well, they came out and shat themselves this week losing to a team who has been getting pushed around by everyone.  Burrow road his burro out of town with a crap performance, Cooper played as if Watson was still throwing him the ball, and Uncle Rico laid the golden goose.....egg.....

Matt Stafford would have changed this teams fortunes, funny that."

Slattery's Ranking: 7

"Of all the 3-5 and worse teams in this league, Codycast might just have the highest upside of the group. In fact, I'd argue if Rico Dowdle wasn't a surprise inactive because of a 'sickness' (God, the Cowboys are a disaster and I'm loving it), there's a great chance Codycast is 4-4 and in the current playoff picture rather than being on the outside looking in.

Apparently this team's manager agrees with me as they paid a haul for the likes of Amari Cooper, Cooper Kupp, and Christian McCaffrey in hopes they can run the table and sneak into the playoffs. Here I am hoping that happens because I love chaos and that scenario would be nothing but chaos."

ScotchnWhiskers (ScotchnWhiskers) [3-5]

Change From Last Week: +1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 7

"Squeaking out a victory over the worst ranked team in the league is, I guess, still a victory.  Jalen Hurts put up nearly 40 points to carry the team to victory while everyone else hung on for dear life and should feel lucky that Hurts had such a good performance. With a good core, sitting at 3-5 it appears as though Whiskers-n-Whiskey is preparing for next year thinking about what could have been.  This is not how the season was supposed to play out."

Slattery's Ranking: 8

"It may have been an ugly matchup against 1-Putt Nine this week, but hey, a win is a win. While this only gets this team further away from the #1 overall pick in next year's rookie draft, it has to give ScotchnWhiskers some hope for the future. With any hope, maybe this team can ride this win into some momentum and make a push for the 1.13 by winning the consolidation bracket. "

Fuzzy Logic (Slattery) [2-6]

Change From Last Week: +2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 10

"Who knew that the key to finally getting a victory was to trade off a bunch of your top talent? I'm sure if Fuzzy would have stumbled into this knowledge earlier they would have traded off Kelce, McLaurin, Hill and Jones weeks ago.

Puka looked good, but rumor has it he only decided to come back for one week before getting banged up again.  Jacobs, Tillman and Otten all had great performances, but are they repeatable performances or will Fuzzy sink back to the 'let's get destroyed every week' column?"

Slattery's Ranking: 9

"Okay, where has this version of Fuzzy Logic been all season? This is an example of the outcomes almost everyone in the league probably expected from this team before I started selling assets for the future. Let's go down the list and let me gloat about my team for the first time all season.

Jacobs looks awesome and you can see a hint of the version of Jacobs that lead the league rushing again.

Puka is a stud, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Cedric Tillman looks like they could be a late round gem and a solid WR2/3 with boom upside.

Malik Nabers looks the part and has all season. If the Giants get a franchise QB in this upcoming draft, Nabers could go from a very good fantasy WR to an elite fantasy WR overnight.

Cade Otton appears to be having the stereotypical year 3 TE breakout, especially now that the offense goes through him. Imagine a world where Godwin doesn't go back to the Bucs and Mike Evans retires. Baker to Otton could become as iconic as Mahomes to Kelce or Rivers to Gates."

PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE (lwinman) [3-5]

Change From Last Week: -2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 9

"Prestige ran into the top score of the week, but they didn't put up much resistance with their 84 total points.  Dak Slightly underperformed.  Kyren had another good game and was rewarded by being traded to a team that gave him a chance to go for a championship.  Looks like Prestige has truly entered the full on rebuild and get younger players portion of the season and are starting to prepare for the Offseason and study up on next years draft."

Slattery's Ranking: 11

"After some promising moves, some awesome wins, and a few very unfortunate losses this season, it seems that Prestige Worldwide has waived the white flag and traded the engine that kept this team in contention for the future. Still, there are a lot of pieces to get one excited for this team in the 2025 season; Rice and Shaheed coming back from injury, Legette is finally starting to show something on the football field, Jeudy has a chance now to prove he's the #1 option for the Browns, and Addison is just electric when given opportunities."

Get Out (Pads) [2-6]

Change From Last Week: +1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 11

"Sometimes the wins just sneak up on you like a case of the runs after an outing to Taco Bell, and that appears to be what happened this week as Get Out beat Codycast who, everyone thought was starting to Find Stella's Groove again.

Led by Captain Concussion himself and another good performance from RhMANdre, Get Out smacked Team CodyCast back to reality.

Can they go for 2 in a row?"

Slattery's Ranking: 10

"In a shocking turn of events, Get Out made a move to acquire picks and a few young high risk high upside players for some of the older studs on their roster, and it's a move I like a lot for this team even if it might take a few years to pan out. Oh, and they actually won this week, too!

I actually really like some of the rookies Get Out has, too. Erick All absolutely passes the eye test on his limited snaps every game, both as a blocker and as a pass catcher, and Ladd McConkey is a straight up baller who should be a fantasy force for years to come.

It might not seem like it yet, but better days are coming for Get Out. "

1-Putt Nine (GhostDad77) [2-6]

Change From Last Week: -2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 12

"1-Putt could have only beaten one team this week and, sadly, that was not the team they went against.  Instead, they lose a close one to ScotchNWhiskers where their lack of a run game (Vidal) and no deep threat (Gabe Davis) truly hurt them.

It's not all bad though, Starting Justin Herbert over Goff would have given them a win...er... I guess that would be considered a bad Start/Sit, so yeah... all bad.  I say trade more guys for more draft capital.  No More Putts"

Slattery's Ranking: 12

"While it was fun while it lasted, we all knew the win streak was going to end. Unfortunately for 1-Putt Nine, the streak ended against a very beatable opponent this week. Here are a few things I'm excited to see over the next few weeks on this roster (in no particular order):

1. With a gigantic hole in the WR room, will Jauan Jennings have himself a strong rest of season and play into a long term contract for a team that needs a good WR 2/3?

2. What will Jonathan Brooks do on the field?

3. Will Jakobi Meyers continue to be the WR1 for the Raiders or will Tre Tucker take that step up and overtake the role?

4. What exactly is Josh Downs with a competent QB rest of season?

5. Can Elijah Moore prove he was a victim of circumstance and he's actually a quality NFL WR?"
