2024 Week 7
Power Rankings
scumdogs (grrouchie) [5-2]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 1
"Fine, whatever. It hurts me to say it but I'm currently a believer. The Scumdogs came in and put up their best performance of the year with 147 points and it seems like they get better and better as the year goes on. Even with Hill, Dionte and Sutton combining for 4 total points the Scumdogs still went off.
The Scumdogs had a Potential score of 198.3 points this week which Beat Dirty Mikes 191 potential from week 5. Right now Lamar Jackson leads the league in points by 11 (mayfield) and 3rd place is Burrow who is 40 points behind. The Scumdogs will go as far as Lamar Jacksons legs will take them.
There is still huge competition at the top of the standings, but right now they look like the top (scum) Dawg"
Slattery's Ranking: 1
"It might sound crazy ranking the Scumdogs above Delta Squad, but there is some logic to this madness.
First, the Scumdogs have a HUGE lead for #1 in PF being 30 points over second place and being the only team to have a PF above 900.
Second, about a quarter of the teams in the league have yet to match or exceed a weekly performance of the 'dogs worst week on the season (124 points).
Third, this team just made a huge trade to acquire Aaron Jones and Tyreek Hill, and I believe those two players should push this team over the edge for the second half of the season.
Fourth, and probably most important, on what grrouchie has called a 'down week filled with bad start/sit decisions', this team scored 2 points less than the leading scorer on the week and had a max potential points of 198.
This team is dangerously scary, and they are hungry for that repeat ship."
Delta Squad (OneTyrell) [6-1]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 2
"With the exception of a 9.2 Cook performance, the Delta Squad fired on all cylinders and everyone went over 10 points. Well, I guess Pitts technically didn't go over 10 points and Pollard was under, but when you look at their score it just looks like everyone went all-out as the Delta Squad had the top score of the week and took out their anger for last weeks loss on Dirty Mike and his Band of Boys. Delta Squad is not out of this championship race and it seems like the bear was poked too much because they are out to humiliate teams."
Slattery's Ranking: 2
"Delta Squad just barely made it out alive in what many consider the game of the week as they outscored Dirty Mike & The Boys by 7 whole points. When this team is on, it is ON. But let's take a moment to discuss what could easily be this team's only weakness:
What is probably most surprising is how Marvin Harrison Jr is not really performing up to expectations for this team, so much so that OneTyrell (smartly) decided to sit him. It's too early to claim that MHJ is a bust, but image how much more dangerous this team could have been if they took Brian Thomas Jr or Malik Nabers in last year's draft. OneTyrell has to hope that MHJ will start performing like the generational talent he is as this team is shockingly light on good WR depth. Doubs can get it done in a pinch, but there's almost no one else on this roster that has the ability to win the week single handedly.
Does OneTyrell feel comfortable enough to ride this roster in December, or will they take the opportunity to make a move to shore up their WR room? Only time will tell."
Dirty Mike & The Boys (HartyPGA) [5-2]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 3
"What do you do when you put up the 3rd most points on the week but still don't manage to win? You go back with your head held high and start planning for next week.
It's possible that if Baker didn't manage to get both of his WR killed this past week that Dirty Mike would have ended up with the high score and a victory.
But right now, while planning the next game, coach has to be worried if Baker can still cook up wins or if his oven got too hot and will need to be replaced. And while they have JK 2-Legs on their team, who is going to step up and replace 1-leg Godwin?
Next week will hopefully provide some answers."
Slattery's Ranking: 3
"It's unfortunate that Dirty Mike lost this week because they put up a performance that would have won against 80% of the league. Unfortunately, and I hate to be that guy, but there are some major questions about this team and if they can continue to perform at such a high level.
Losing Godwin for the season is going to hurt, as he was the WR #2 on the season so far, AND he was a major reason why Baker was performing so well. The other major reason why Baker was balling out, Mike Evans, is also out for multiple weeks, which makes starting Baker a huge risk going forward.
Tank Bigsby looks really good on the field, but will he continue to get the volume once Etienne is back from injury?
Relying on 3 Falcons every week is a very scary thought, especially with Kirk looking less than stellar the last few weeks.
Finally, there's the scare of when, not if, JK Two-Legs will hit the edge of the cliff and just plummet to fantasy doom.
I hope HartyPGA proves me wrong, because this team is fun to watch week in and week out."
NotGreatBob (NotGreatBob) [5-2]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 4
"This was an ugly win for NGB who has been bashing opponents over the head with high scores and looking like a young Mike Tyson who destroyed everything in his path and it wasn't close. However, it appears as though Injuries are putting the Not Great in Not Great Bob right now. Rookie Sensation JD5 went down with an injury, Mike Evans took a hard hit to Outsville, and then there are the previous injuries weighing the team down. Carr, Hurst, Higbee, Burks and Olave."
Slattery's Ranking: 4
"A rare down week for NotGreatBob, but that's what happens when you lose the cheat code that is a dominant mobile quarterback early in the game. Assuming Daniels didn't get hurt and performed around what he was projected, this team would have scored over 100 points even with a handful of down weeks from some of their other key players. NGB is in quite the pickle though has all three of his starting QBs have that unfortunate questionable tag for Week 8.
Speaking of injuries, at least Mike Evans gave NGB a decent game before going out with a hammy. Good news is Mike Evans should be back by the time fantasy playoffs start, but he will be missed on this roster while he's gone.
On a positive note, Achane should absolutely dominate rest of season with Tua coming back, Bucky Irving looks to be a steal considering where NGB drafted him, and getting Keenan Allen back from the bye will help fill the hole that Mike Evans is leaving on this roster."
ShivaBlasts (jwv7244) [4-3]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 5 (But #1 in his heart)
"Yeah baby, the 5th ranked team this week is the Scrappy Shiva Blasts who are using their Brutal RB duo of Henry and Walker to demolish oppoents and steal their girlfriends.
Do not overlook the 4-3 ShivaBlasts. 2023 the Blasts only had 6 total wins. In 2022 they only had 3 total wins. This year they could beat those totals combined."
Slattery's Ranking: 6
"Shiva didn't have the best week ever, but they still got the win. Helps that jwv7244 was playing against a team that should be viewed as an automatic win. The important thing to realize with this ranking is the upside this roster has.
Let's start with players that were already on the roster before their big move. Henry might be the RB1 by end of season as he is playing at a level that makes me think there's a constant blizzard happening in Vermont year round. KenBone Walker is the perfect RB2 for this team as he has such a safe floor from a volume perspective with weekly RB1 upside. Between Stroud and Nix, it's very hard to see a world where the QB position fails this team again (assuming good start/sit decisions are made). CeeDee should be a locked in top 5 WR rest of season if last year is anything to go off of. Zay Flowers looked like he was becoming that dude for the Ravens offense before he got hurt, and should continue to perform admirably for Shiva.
Now let's talk about some moves that were made during the season. Despite jwv7244's complaints, I do think the acquisition of Kelce is a very important move for this roster. Eventually, Zach Ertz will fall off the cliff, and Kelce will be there to pick up the slack. While it wasn't a great outcome last week, Kelce had 5 targets when he spent most of the game run blocking and facing a pretty stout 49ers defense, and that should be the baseline for targets Kelce will see every week. The more important acquisition was probably Terry McLaurin, who looks to be an absolute STUD now that he has a good QB and an above average system surrounding him. Even without a TD, without Daniels throwing him the ball, and in a game where he probably wasn't on the field for much of the second half, Terry still put up very respectable numbers. "
codycast (codycast) [3-4]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 7
"CodyCast throws down 114 points in victory, beating their opponents by over 30 points and no one is talking about the performance because they were just the top of the 'those other teams' list as 3 other teams went over 140 points this week.
CodyCast Mashed the Tots with Burrow to Higgins looking good. Gibbs going Ham and even Mark Andrews woke up and remembered that he is an elite TE option.
Imagine if Deebo, Mostert and Kirk decided to play instead of taking the game off."
Slattery's Ranking: 5
"This might be the spiciest ranking I've made all year, but I believe it's 100% true. Codycast has figured things out and absolutely has this team rolling right now. Even with a goose from Deebo thanks to his illness and very poor performances from Mostert and Kirk, they just barely missed out on scoring 120+ points on the week for the 3rd week in a row. Still, 100+ points for 4 weeks in a row is nothing to sneeze at.
Assuming current trends continue, Andrews looks to be back from the dead, Dowdle should volume his way to relevance rest of season, Deebo will absolutely cook once he gets better from his illness, Vele could turn into a surprise every week start if Sutton is traded, and Mostert has RB1 upside every week with Tua coming back.
This team is way better than their record, and should be viewed as extremely dangerous."
Michael Scott's Tots (BaileyOwen) [5-2]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 6
"Sitting at 5-2 and in 6th place in my rankings, the tots need to come out firing and have a rebound game next week if they want to stay in the top half of the power rankings.
Josh Allen came out Guns-A-Blazin with a 27 point performance that the Taters have been waiting for. J Williams (no, the RB who sucked all year) bashed his way to at throwback performance and almost got 25 points while looking as good as he did his rookie year. Kittle put up 13 while looking dominant and that is where the fun stopped. Aiyuk popped off and will now sit on the IR for the season. JSN is hoping that an injury to Metcalf can make him relevant. Devonta Smith - 1 Catch for negative yards.
Can the tots recover?"
Slattery's Ranking: 7
"Oh boy, this is probably close to danger zone for the Tater Tots. This starting roster was just full of disappointment after disappointment, and it's hard to tell if this was a one off week or the new norm for these players.
First, let's get the big one out of the way - while he wasn't very good for fantasy so far on the year, losing Aiyuk for the season is going to be devastating for this roster. Aiyuk had WR1 upside every week and was on the field A TON. Get well soon.
While Javonte Williams had a very good game for Michael Scott's Tots, it's hard to imagine a world where a roster with this much on the field talent was mostly outshined by a borderline washed RB. Here's the nail on the coffin: Javonte outscored Kamara, Devonta Smith, Dell, Smith-Njigba, and Ekler COMBINED with plenty of room to spare.
The sad part is Michael Scott's Tots absolutely could have won the week if they made some different start/sit decisions as a lot of points were left on the bench (Pickens with Russ and Njoku with Jameis comes to mind)."
PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE (lwinman) [3-4]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 8
"When you lose the battle of The Ugly, you hang your head in shame and go out drinking hoping that no one will recognize you.
Tonight Team Prestige are all wearing hoodies and Groucho glasses, sitting in a dive bar and waiting for the first person to pass out drunk so that they can stick that guy with the bill.
Better luck next week kids."
Slattery's Ranking: 9
"Prestige suffered a heartbreaking loss to the putters this week where Kyren Williams tried to put the team on his back and singlehandedly win the week but ultimately fell a few yards short. You have to wonder if this is a loss that's on the manager for starting the clear wrong QB or if this loss is on the players for phoning it in when they thought they had a guaranteed W in the books.
Losing Shaheed for the season is going to be a hard hurdle to get over, especially when you combine the loss with JaMo's suspension for stupidly taking pills he shouldn't have. This team also lost Aiden O'Connell, but let's be real, that's probably more of a blessing in disguise for this roster.
The disappointments that sting the most probably have to be Brown, JaMo, Engram, and Mason. All those players have much higher expectations than what they brought to the field on Sunday, and there's very little on the bench that makes you feel optimistic about replacing them.
At least DJ Moore is coming back from bye, which should be a major boost to this starting roster. Dak is also coming back, which could be a blessing or a curse depending on how the Cowboys recover. If Dak and the Boys continue to disappoint, at least Russ looks like a viable option in the right match-up."
ScotchnWhiskers (ScotchnWhiskers) [2-5]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 10
"Putting up the 4th highest score in the league and getting beat by the margin of Joe Mixon hurts, especially when you're the 10th ranked team in the league trying to make a stand and claw your way up to compete for the last playoff spot. This was not the week for the Scotch Drinkers even though White had his best performance of the year, Hurts had his Tush Pushed twice and AJ Brown caught such a pretty bomb.
It's like the fat kid going to reach for a candy bar to only have it pulled away at the last second and someone laughing while saying 'SO CLOSE Fatty'
Destiny did not smile upon these drunken whiskers."
Slattery's Ranking: 8
"ScotchnWhiskers, I'm so sorry for your loss this week. You put up a performance that absolutely should have won you the week, and likely would have if the schedule was different. Sadly, life is cruel and a lot of times bad things happen to good people/teams just because.
This team has A LOT of pieces that could prove to be extremely useful for an accelerated rebuild, and this week's performance shows it.
Ray Davis looks awesome and should be part of a 1-2 RB punch for Buffalo for a while. Richard White is in a position to volume his way to a top performance again (re-earning the name 'Rachaad White'), and that might be enough to guarantee a contract somewhere for next year. The Hurts/Brown stack is deadly and should be great for a few more years at least. Waddle should return to WR2 with WR1 upside form now that Tua is healthy again. Keaton Mitchell is coming back from PUP and might steal the backup/change of pace role away from Justice Hill on an extremely high powered offense. Oh, and that Caleb Williams guy looks to be finally living up to the #1 overall pick status.
Here's the cherry on top, ScotchnWhiskers has 4 1st round picks in next year's draft, and at least 2 of them are projecting to be top 6 picks. 2024 might be a long shot for this roster still, but they might be monsters in 2025 or 2026."
1-Putt Nine (GhostDad77) [2-5]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 9
"Two wins in a row. When you win it doesn't matter that it was an ugly win. You will be remembered for the Victory and not how you achieved it."
Slattery's Ranking: 10
"Oh hey 1-Putt, I see that win streak. That has to be a huge boost of confidence to the players on this roster.
I also see that Jonathan Brooks might be coming back in the next few weeks. Oh, and that Jauan Jennings guy? Yeah, he was just gifted a huge opportunity rest of season. Cowing is in the same boat as Jennings and might be able to prove himself off the taxi squad. Parker Washington also seems to be solidifying himself as a great special teams return man, which is only good news for this roster.
This week might have been a down week scoring wise, but this team is trending in the right direction. Don't be surprised if they get a few more upsets over the second half of the season."
Fuzzy Logic (Slattery) [1-6]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 11
"I'm not going to summarize The Fuzzy's game. What I'm going to do is run down their scoring since week 1.
Week 1, 93 points - Not bad.
Week 2, 84 points and a step back.
Week 3, 104 points, Looking up (but an ugly loss to NGB).
Week 4 102 points, a step back.
Week 5, 93 points and an ugly loss to the Scumdogs.
Week 6, 81 points and the catalyst to the 1-Putt winning streak.
Week 7 68 points and the 4th week in a row of scoring less and less and less.
Now, the team has decided to trade off the here and now to rebuild, so where do they go from here? is this Rock Bottom? or will next week be a 50 point performance?"
Slattery's Ranking: 11
"Fuzzy officially waved the white flag and started moving pieces and looking to the future as their 2024 season is over. On the plus side, a WR room of Nabers and Puka is a great starting point for a rebuild, assuming Puka doesn't break again next season.
Now is the time to see what Fuzzy has in some of their younger talent. Can Hockenson come back from his injury and produce? Is Cade Otton actually a reliable TE or is he just a product of circumstance? Can Jaylen Warren play his way into another contract over the second half of the season? Is Cedric Tillman a startable flex option or a bust of a pick? Can Estime or Tucker play their way onto the field or are they career backup RBs? Lots of questions need to be answered about this roster, and it should make for an interesting second half of the season for this team."
Get Out (Pads) [1-6]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 12
"The injuries just keep coming for Pads who lost his starting QB to an achilles owie. Looks like Watson might have played his last game on Get Out, ever. While this team has been bad this year, this was a week you just kind of brush off and hope it gets better. 1 player over 10 points? Monty and Stevenson put up less than 10 points combined? Ridley, Adams and Kupp all being old and not performing (some not even taking the field).
Where does Pads go from here? Hope it gets better? Start trading off assets that could help a contender and go full rebuild?
Pray CMC, Tua and Kupp all come back and start dropping 20 bombs every week?
I have questions, who got answers?"
Slattery's Ranking: 12
"Things are going from bad to worse for Get Out, but there are a few blessings in disguise for this roster.
With the Watson injury, they will be forced to play Maye or Tua, which is a huge improvement at the QB position. McCaffrey is supposed to be coming back soon, and given the 49ers struggles without him, he should be the centerpiece of that offense. Etienne, while disappointing recently, was garbage time voluming his way to decent performances before his injury, and I wouldn't be surprised if he slots right back into that role. Cooper is in a MUCH better situation now, and could be a reliable start going forward. With Hopkins' departure from the Titans, Ridley will basically be all alone for that WR room, assuming his QB can get him the ball. Kupp should play this week, as well.
While I'm not saying there's a great chance for Pads to turn it around, it's hard to deny there's at least a chance. The biggest question is will it be too little too late if the turn around happens."
Editor's note: In the event that rankers' averages are the same between teams, the following tie breakers are used in the following order to determine position in the rankings: Win/Loss ratio, total points scored, total potential points, total points against
