2023 Week 8 Rankings

Get Out (Pads) [6-2]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 1

"You spin me right round baby, like a broken record, you spin me round.  155 points and a dominating victory over ScotchnWhiskers.  Tua and Etienne combined for 50 points Waddle, Gibbs and CMC all had over 20 points as well.  Those 5 combined for more points than Scotch put up and it's hard to fight against that.  Pads is absolutely lighting it up, but are they going to burn out early like last year?   Tune in next week to find out."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 1

"Pads came out with a monster week putting up 1 point less than the highest scoring team on the week. Tua and Waddle combined for 48 points while Etienne continues to dominate with his massive workload. Kupp saw 10 targets but was disappointing with only 4 catches and 21 yards. CMC and Gibbs were both legit dudes this week. CMC found the end zone yet again and will look to break the record next week. Gibbs got 31 touches and made the most out of it. Will the production remain once Montgomery comes back from injury? Any team that features CMC and Cooper Kupp is a scary sight."

lwinmin's Ranking: 1

"Get out is the clear #1. 6-2 and almost 1K points for. In week 8 they dismantled their opponent by 30 points."

Fuzzy Logic (Slattery) [5-3]

Change From Last Week: +2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 2

"How do you follow up demolishing the co-commish?  Put the smack down on Dirty Mike!  Fuzzy came out guns a blazing again and survived Mahomes only putting up 4.6 while last weeks 30+ guy Foreman only put up 4.1  They did it on the back of McLaurin (14) Hopkins (32) Hill (21) Jacobs (14) and Hockseson (17).  Fuzzy is winning in outstanding fashion and putting up points week after week now."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 2

"Fuzzy Logic saw a combined 13 points from Mahomes and Kelce. Foreman and Jones combined for 9 points in the RB slots. A combined 22 points from the QB and RBs and they still managed to win in week 8. Hopkins went nuclear with Bananarama at QB. Hill went off for 112 yards and a TD. Hockules, Scary Terry, and Fat Thor all scored and had respectable days as well. This wasn’t the best week out of Fuzzy Logic, but they are still an elite team that should fear their opponents."

lwinmin's Ranking: 2

"The commish is coming in at #2 this week. Another win this week puts them at 5-3 on the year. They are also second in points for and DeAndre Hopkins has arrived!!"

Michael Scott's Tots (BaileyOwen) [5-3]

Change From Last Week: +2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 3

"After putting up the high score on the week with over 159 points and making short work of Prestige Worldwide, The Tots climb up the rankings again.  Almost the entire lineup went over 10 points this week as they are solidifying themselves as contenders. Williams is starting to look like what he was drafted to be, Josh Allen is a force of nature. Kamara found the fountain of youth and George Freaking Kittle had one of his Boom weeks.  The Tots are crispy on the outside, warm and tender on the inside.  Tastes great dipped in Sriracha Ketchup."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 4

"Michael Scott’s Tots came out with a monster week putting up 159 for the highest score on the week. Josh Allen was a stallion. Javonte got 30 touches and scored a TD. Kamara got 21 touches and scored 2 TDs. These 3 players combined for 75 points. Add in the young receivers Aiyuk (5 for 109), Smith (7 for 99 and a TD), and Garrett Wilson (7 for 100), and then the Scott’s Tots will be flaming hot. On top of this all, the Tots also acquired Austin Ekeler for a couple of 1st round picks and Khalil Herbert. Does the newly formed backfield of Ekeler, Kamara, and Javonte make this team a serious contender?"

lwinmin's Ranking: 3

"Scott's Tots had the highest score in week 8. They are at 5-3 and are getting hot at the right time which is why they deserve a top 3 ranking. Javonte Williams and Alvin Kamara look unstoppable."

Scumdogs (grrouchie) [6-2]

Change From Last Week: -2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 4

"The stars aligned for the Scumdogs to have a "barely scraped by" victory.  Jonathan Taylor is coming along and might be a difference maker by the end of the year, but he is going to need to fall into the end zone a few times. Joe Mixon woke up and had an 18 point performance to out do Breece Hall.  This week, the RBs carried the team while the WRs played second fiddle.  A win is a win, but winning by slightly more than a catch isn't going to propel this team to championship glory."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 3

"The Scumdogs won week 8 by about a half a point. JT and Breece are a solid RB core, but JT only saw 1 touch in the 2nd half and might be an injury concern. Mixon was able to run through the SF defense for 110 total yards and a touchdown. Diontae saw 14 targets while Pittman saw 13. The Scumdogs would love the production to stay at this level. Nacua didn’t really do much and there’s not much depth to speak of. This team is just waiting for Jefferson and Conner to come back to add some depth to this already intimidating squad."

lwinmin's Ranking: 4

"Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good and well Scumdogs is lucky and good. Sitting at 6-2 they barely pulled out a victory in week 8. They are looking like they are guaranteed a playoff spot, but do they have enough on this roster to get a ring? We'll see. "

NotGreatBob (NotGreatBob) [5-3]

Change From Last Week: -2

Grrouchie's Ranking: 5

"NGB put up a solid performance against Codycast who happened to be firing out points like it was last year.  Carr going over 20, Chase and Lockett both going over 18 and multiple 10+ guys were no match for Team Codycast this week.  Even in defeat NGB is still in control of their own destiny as they currently reside in a playoff spot.  Will they have the late season magic again?"

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 5

"Not a terrible week from NotGreatBob, but not enough to come out victorious. Brian Robinson and Chuba were nothing special. Keenan and Olave didn’t do much while Evans wasn’t far behind, but luckily he found a late TD. Chase went 10 for 100 and a touchdown but couldn’t hold on to the ball and coughed it up once. Lockett didn’t practice all week and then came out for 8 receptions on 9 targets for 81 yards and a touchdown. The loss isn’t ideal but the increased production from rookies Charbonnet and Reed should be promising."

lwinmin's Ranking: 5

"The defending champ took a step back in week 8 losing to Codycast by 25 points. Chase, Lockett, Carr, and Olave are going to look to get him right in week 9. "

PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE (lwinman) [4-4]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 7

"Last week was a tough one, 7 out of 9 players going over 10 points and only Adams stinking the joint up at 1.6 points. Even with some bench swaps and LoseMan maxing their points out they couldn't have won this game, so that is at least a consolation.

This was a tough one in a week where a lot of teams balled out.

Prestige still has the ability to make a push with the talent on their roster, but there was no stopping the Tots this week.  Don't hang your head too low kiddo."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 6

"A respectable week, but unfortunately went up against the highest scoring team of the week. Dak decided to dice up the LAR defense for 300+ yards and 4 TDs. The rest of the squad put up between 10-13 points, except 7.5 from DJ Moore and a shocking 1.6 points from Adams. Will the firings and QB change in Vegas help Adams be more productive? I think there are a lot of better options than Jimmy G at this point. I would consider this a down week for this team and don’t expect many more performances like this going forward. "

lwinmin's Ranking: 6

"It's lonely at 4-4. The only 4-4 team in the league. Formerly a #1 ranked team has lost every game for the last 20 years it seems. Idk when they'll ever get this ship turned around. They need help."

ScotchnWhiskers (ScotchnWhiskers) [3-5]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 10

"It's not fair that they put up a loss when putting up over 120 points but there was no combating Pads this past week.  Scotch deserves praise for having Hurts go over 34, AJ Brown going for 29 and... well, those two put up half the teams points.  Ouch. It's like root canal, painful to watch."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 7

"A solid week that will unfortunately result in a loss because they were matched up against the 2nd highest scoring team of the week. Haymakers were thrown in this matchup. Hurts and Brown combined for 63 points and have been on an insane streak. It’s starting to get colder in Vermont, so the Yeti is coming out of hibernation. Bourne found the end zone but will unfortunately go down for the season. Warren, Flowers, and Metcalf were all underwhelming in their games. This squad will need more production throughout their lineup in order to compete throughout the year, but it’s clear they have the ability to do so."

lwinmin's Ranking: 7

"Despite putting up 120 points in week 8 Scotch falls to 3-5. Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown have been a valuable combo this year and they'll look to continue into week 9."

Delta Squad (OneTyrell) [3-5]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 9

"This loss hurts as the Squad came up short by a 2 yard catch.  Cousins put up a heroic last performance as he heads to the IR  Luckily the Delta Squad has 3 more starting QBs on their bench to pull from to try to turn this season around."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 8

"The Delta Squad came out fighting this week to narrowly lose by half a point. There were no real boom performances to talk about other than Cousins having a decent game before going down for the season. Barkley was able to put up 128 on an incredible 36 carries. Cook wasn’t great and now gets to compete with Lenny in that backfield. Thielen still saw 11 targets so that has to be an encouraging sight. It’s crazy to think that Dallas scored 43 points and Pollard only had 6 fantasy points. Not the outcome the Delta Squad was hoping for, but they will look to bounce back in week 9."

lwinmin's Ranking: 8

"A tough loss in week 8 puts Delta Squad at 3-5 on the season. If Saquon gets 36 carries again idk if I would be happy or scared."

codycast (codycast) [3-5]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 6

"A Throwback to last year when Codycast puts up 130+  Burrow went for over 30 and Gus Edwards put up another 27 in a dominating performance.  Curious to see how the future pans out as they traded off Ekeler to retool and see if they can make a late push."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 9

"Codycast put together a solid week and still decided to start selling off some pieces by moving Ekeler. Burrow and Higgins looked good against the 49ers. The Gus Bus was full throttle putting up 3 TDs in week 8. Andrews scored but was slightly disappointing with only 4 catches and 40 yards. Diggs and Cooper saw a ton of action but couldn’t score. Is there going to be some concern over Mattison’s workload going forward? Will the team continue to sell throughout the year?"

lwinmin's Ranking: 11

"135 points in week 8, but sitting at 11?? Well Ekeler is gone and I don't see Edwards putting up 27 again this week. This team still has some fire power in Burrow, Andrews, Diggs, Cooper, and Kirk. They are selling, but I could see a small run forcing them into the playoffs."

ShivaBlasts (jwv7244) [3-5]

Change From Last Week: +1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 8

"Lamb and Addison balled out while Stroud and White did enough to hold the fort down.  Even with Waller injuring the rest of his season. This is their 3rd win of the season and last year they had a total of 3 wins.  ShivaBlasts are improving steadily."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 10

"A solid week out of ShivaBlasts to take home a win. White put up 109 yards total yards for a decent week while Addison continues to produce with Jefferson out. It’s a little concerning that Walker might be losing touches to the rookie. Waller might be out for an extended time as well. Hey, at least he led his team in air yards, with 4! The Flookes (flex + rookies) Mayer, Douglas, and Johnson combined for 12.4 points. This squad needed all of CeeDee’s 35 points in order to win. ShivaBlasts will look to continue with another win in week 9."

lwinmin's Ranking: 9

"CEEDEE LAMB. That MAN. Safe to say ShivaBlasts would be at 2-6 if not for Lamb. But they and almost half the league are now at 3-5. But how will Addison perform now that Cousins is gone??"

September...08! (GhostDad77) [3-5]

Change From Last Week: -1

Grrouchie's Ranking: 11

"Herbert and Gabe Davis showed up to play.  Meyers, Samuel and Moore decided to just be Floor Plays.  This team is not clicking and that is causing a decent to the bottom.  There is talent here, but they don't seem to be able to perform during the same week in order to rack up a couple of wins.  Maybe next week? Maybe next year? Call me, Maybe?  Fire the coach?"

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 11

"Not the greatest performance out of this squad in week 8. Pierce is starting to lose time to Singletary and looked inefficient putting up 46 yards on 12 carries. Pacheco was lackluster with -3 receiving yards and only 40 yards on the ground. Meyers suffered from Jimmy G syndrome and only saw 1 target. Samuel didn’t do much with his 4 receptions and Moore could only haul in 2 catches for 30 yards. Herbert looked good putting up nearly 300 yards and 3 TDs. This whole team (except Herbert) underperformed in week 8, oh hey and Gabe Davis. GhostDad will look to rebound in week 9."

lwinmin's Ranking: 10

"The GhostDad is still waiting for Dameon Pierce to provide some scoring. Another 3-5 looking to make a final run at the playoffs. Pierce, Pacheco, and Goedert will need to show up in week 9."

Dirty Mike & The Boys (HartyPGA) [2-6]

Change From Last Week: =0

Grrouchie's Ranking: 12

"Dirty Mike had some solid performances this past week but 15+ From Purdy, LaPorta, Godwin and Dotson wasn't enough to outduel the currently On Fire Fuzzy.  Solid effort, but sometimes effort means squat."

BaileyOwen's Ranking: 12

"Dirty Mike and The Boys came out with a much better performance than weeks prior but still couldn’t pull out the win. The rookies Bijan and LaPorta were good while Godwin also played well. London caught 5 of his 7 targets, and hopefully the change at QB can help his production going forward. Dotson went off for 20+ points and looked like the guy people expected him to be this season. Dillon did his usual 6 carries for 11 yards but caught 5 passes out of the backfield to save his lousy day. Wan’Dale and Collins put up some duds that didn’t help The Boys."

lwinmin's Ranking: 12

"The lone 2-6 team. WHY DID THEY START PURDY OVER BAKER?? A BOLD call. Who knows what led to this decision. Had they started Baker and Shakir over Wandale that would have added like 16 ish more points. Still not enough to win their week 8 matchup, but I think we can blame the managerial decisions on this loss."
