2023 Week 5 Rankings
PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE (lwinman) [4-1]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 1
"Prestige came into the game and got more of a fight than they bargained for from the team with the least amount of wins. In a hard fought battle multiple players stepped up with good games, but when it came to the deciding factor DJ Moore came through with the biggest game of his career putting up 45 points! DJ Moore keeps Prestige ranked #1."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 1
"Make it three boom games in a row for PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE as the squad puts up 136 points in a tough matchup. DJ Moore decided to put the team on his back and was able to win this matchup on Thursday night. 45 points on 230 yards and 3 TDs will always help, especially in a 14-point victory. Dak put up a bad game, Engram was disappointing with only 28 yards, and even Deebo was just okay. Except for DJ Moore’s blow-up game this was just a mediocre performance from the whole team. This could be a team that will be making a lot of noise as the year progresses and I would not want to face them in the playoffs."
lwinmin's Ranking: 3
"Well, this squad has put together a couple good weeks here to get to 4-1. The highest PF in the league, but I've only got them at 3rd in the rankings. The running back spot is gross relying on Mattison, Mostert, and Swift. Idk how that works all season long. Thankfully DJ Moore has arrived. They will need to have more games like that from Moore if they want to stay in the top 5 of the rankings."
Scumdogs (grrouchie) [4-1]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 2
"100% honestly, if there was another 4-1 team in the league I would have the Scumdogs ranked below them because even though they managed to win they basically lucked into it.
Lamar Jackson BALLED out and had a gre...er.... no, that was another universe. LJ actually did everything he could have but 7 drops from his receiving core completely killed what he should have done.
Justin Jefferson put up a bad game on the back of an injury. Jonathan Taylor didn't do much, but he should't have been out there anyway. Breece Hall and Puk Nukem are what kept this team alive while the opponent put up even more bad performances which is the only reason the Scumdogs won."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 2
"The Scumdogs had a fairly disappointing week but were still able to pull out a win this week. It was nice to see JT back on the field, however there was a lack of touches with only 6 carries and 1 target. Limitless Breece Hall is going to be fun to watch for the rest of the year. It was also good to see Puka receive 11 targets in his first game alongside Cooper Kupp. Unfortunately, Conner and Jefferson will be heading to the IR as those IR slots seem to be a revolving door for the Scumdogs. We will see if this squad can continue to stay hot as key players keep finding ways to get hurt."
lwinmin's Ranking: 2
"Jonathan Taylor is back and Scumdog couldn't be happier. No one is surprised to see him get eased back in and he may be slow to get going for the next couple weeks. But Scum is sitting at 4-1 and they can afford to ease Taylor back."
Get Out (Pads) [3-2]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 3
"In a battle of what most of the league thought would have been the Championship game last year, Get Out came in and wiped the floor with Codycast. Tua went over 20 points and Etienne put up almost 35 to help. Kupp came back from injury and put up 15 while Monty dropped 19.9. Coach Pads had the team soaking up the competition this week."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 3
"A great performance from Get Out with the 2nd highest score of week 5. Etienne blew up in London while Montgomery can’t stop finding the end zone in Detroit. CMC scored yet again but had a fairly disappointing week other than that. It was great to see Kupp back on the field too. Waddle was able to score a TD, but he has been disappointing this year as the WR47 through 5 weeks. This is a scary team to face as they continue to get healthy. Any team that features both CMC and Cooper Kupp has to be shaking in their boots."
lwinmin's Ranking: 1
"With Cooper Kupp and Christian Watson back Pads is looking like they could go on a serious run. CMC always finds the end zone. Etienne is playing well. He has 2 dolphins on the squad. I am scared to death of this 3-2 team. I realize they don't have the top record or the highest PF, but that is because of guys being out and they are almost all healthy. When that's the case this roster looks deadly."
Michael Scott's Tots (BaileyOwen) [3-2]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 4
"With a winning record and being ranked at #4, the Tots look legit. They took their opponents to pound town and didn't stop the beatings until the fat lady sung. Allen, Kamara and Pickens combined for over 72 points and those 3 alone would have beaten Dirty Mike who only put up 71 total points. On top of that, George Kittle, who was not benched like Goedert was in another game, came through with a performance for the ages with 3 catches for 3 touchdowns and a massive 26 points. The Tots have guys that can just go off and carry the team to victory."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 5
"Scott’s Tots came out and put up the 3rd highest scoring team of the week. Josh Allen was a stallion putting up over 30 points. If only everyone on this team was named George, then the team would have put up 200 points. Pickens looks excellent with an increase in production and managed to haul down a bomb from Pickett, scoring 23 points. It was also Kittle’s week to shine in San Francisco as he put up a hattrick of touchdowns. What a week it could have been if Kittle could catch anything that wasn’t a TD. It has been an up and down season, but Scott’s Tots are hoping to stay hot and be competitive throughout the rest of the year."
lwinmin's Ranking: 4
"Scott's Tots is also struggling at the RB position with Herbert going down. It will be interesting to see who they slide in behind Kamara in week 5. Kittle has finally had a game and I'm sure Scotts Tots is welcoming his arrival. Now, if JSN could show up he would be really happy."
NotGreatBob (NotGreatBob) [3-2]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 6
"Remember last week when Mac Jones gave the opponent points? Well this week he gave even more points to the Scumdogs by handing them 2.6. In fact, if Mac Jones had put up zero points or the position was left blank (or Carr was started) then NGB wins the game and working towards reclaiming his throne. All that inspite of Higbee, Breida, Reed and Bateman putting up less than a combined 9 points. Achane put up another 20 and Chase put up 44 and everyone else let the team and coach down. Ouch!"
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 4
"Down goes the king, again. NGB unfortunately put up a dud and wasn’t able to do too much in week 5. Higbee put up 3 points, Breida with under 3, Reed and Bateman combined for 2.5 points, and Mac Jones is still jealous of them all. It must suck to waste a 3 TD game from Chase, but it is definitely encouraging to see 19 targets. Achane looked exceptional again, but of course he will be heading towards IR. Olave looked banged up but salvaged his week with a touchdown. The 32 points from Zack Moss could have been all that NGB needed to get over the hump this week, but unfortunately this team fell to 3-2 heading into week 6."
lwinmin's Ranking: 6
"The league champ is sitting at 3-2 on the year, but they just lost Achane to injury. Thankfully Jamar Chase and Burrow seem to be getting along as the man exploded for more than 40 points last week. Now if Chris Olave could show up I'm sure Bob would appreciate that."
Fuzzy Logic (Slattery) [2-3]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 5
"Sometimes you start a RB who doesn't play and gives you zero points (Jones). Sometimes you start a WR who is just a huge Bust in the Waiting (Williams) and he only gives you 1.2 points. And sometimes none of that matters because you are stacking Mahomes and Kelce and TyFreak Hill is your side piece. When that happens you still manage to blow out the opponent. Nuke also put up 18 points while Jacobs put up 17. This team is loaded with Firepower and up until now they haven't been able to have enough people fire off at the same time. But, if you let this team click then you are probably losing to them."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 6
"Aaron Jones was out but still in the starting lineup and Fields had 41 points on the bench, but Fuzzy Logic still pulled out the win this week. Tyreek went boom (what’s new) and Jacobs managed to find the end zone. Mahomes / Kelce combined for 40 points in a close game against the Vikings. Hopkins got the volume that he needs to produce, but will Tannehill be good enough to help? 2-3 record from Slattery, but this is a scary team that I wouldn’t want to face in the playoffs with Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce."
lwinmin's Ranking: 5
"The commish is 2-3 on the year, but has 549 Points For which is 3rd most in the league. Josh Jacobs is playing a little better, Hopkins finally had a day, and Jameson Williams is starting his career. Now Hockenson may be gobbling up all the targets with Justin Jefferson on IR. All these things are pointing Fuzzy in the right direction. I expect the wins to start flowing for our great commish. The only problem is knowing when to play Justin Fields."
codycast (codycast) [2-3]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 8
"Oh how the mighty have fallen. I know that last year the team also got off to a slow start, but sitting at 2-3 and in 8th place, there is a lot of uphill battle to go. This year feels more competitive and that means it will be harder to go on a dominating run that leaves everyone else in the dust. Burrow finally came alive and went over 29 points and Diggs did his normal amazing performance. However, when you are forced to start LatMurray and he puts up 1.2 and Miles Sanders shows him how to truly suck with a 0.2 - Too much of a hole to dig out of when your opponent is clicking. Insert the meme where Codycast is being poked by a stick and the caption is "do something"."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 7
"This is a week that definitely didn’t go Codycast way. Burrow finally looked healthy. Diggs hauled in 8 catches with a TD in London. That was just about it from this team. Latavius stunk, the Gus Bus was stuck in neutral, Sanders coughed up the ball, and Adams looked like a decoy with only 4 targets for 45 yards. This squad is desperately waiting for Ekeler to be back in the starting lineup. Codycast has a chance to be competitive, but will definitely need more production out of the stars to have a chance at victory."
lwinmin's Ranking: 7
"It is hard for me to believe that a team with Ekeler, Davante Adams, Diggs, Burrow, Amari Cooper, Mark Andrews and Myles Gaskin are sitting at 2-3 but here we are. Ekeler and Burrow have dealt with injury. Andrews is dropping touchdowns and Vegas doesn't know how to use Adams. However, the season is still long. Burrow looked much better this week and Ekeler may be returning from his injury. There is still plenty of hope left for CodyCast. Don't count him out."
Delta Squad (OneTyrell) [2-3]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 7
"Delta Squad is probably sitting in a bar somewhere, coach ordering shots of Jaeger and the team getting trashed because they know that they got very lucky this week. On the back of Cousins (22) Thielen (22) and Pitts (12) they outdueled their opponents and beat them by 4.1 points. This week the Delta Squad performed a percision striken on the Shiva Blasts and got lucky because only 2 teams in the entire league scored less points than the Delta Squad this week. So, count your lucky stars, rub your rabbits foot, do whatever it is you do when you had a near death experience because you're not going to get far playing like this."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 10
"What a week from the Delta Squad. There were only 2 teams who managed to score less points, but the Delta Squad still picked up a dub. Kirk Cousins looked competent but will be losing JJ in that offense. The ghost of Adam Thielen is still finding various ways to make the starting lineup. He managed to pull in 11 of 13 targets with a TD. He will continue to produce if Bryce Young keeps checking it down to him anytime there is pressure. Kyle Pitts wasn’t his disappointing self for once. These are the only positives to talk about though. Doubs couldn’t muster a point, Cook and Cooks were bad, and then Najee and Pollard were straight up inefficient. It’s going to be a long year if the studs continue to put up duds."
lwinmin's Ranking: 8
"Delta Squad could get Saquon back this week and boy will they be happy to have him in their lineup. They had 3 running backs start last week and none of them managed to exceed 7 fantasy points. Thankfully Adam Thielen helped grab a W and get this team their 2nd victory. I think this roster has upside if they can stay healthy. However, adding another wide receiver or 2 could help."
ScotchnWhiskers (mark2law) [2-3]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 9
"This was a game of Stack on Stack. Mahomes and Kelce vs Hurts and Brown. Hurts and Brown won the stack war but the problem for FriskyWhiskers is that the rest of the team failed to compete with the guys on the other side of the field. Jacobs and Jones outscored Warren and Henry. Tyreek outscored Flowers, Knox, Williams, Allgeier and CEH combined.
Yes, it was bloody ugly. Scotch has some players, but they all thought it was a bye week."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 8
"The Hurts / Brown stack was able to score 35 points together, but that did not seem to be enough to help pull out the win. There were far more single digit performances than double digit, which should definitely be a concern. Clyde only saw the ball 3 times and Kyren was inefficient with his 13 carries. Flowers saw 11 targets, but the Baltimore receivers had too much popcorn before the game and were dropping all of Lamar’s passes. Derrick Henry went back to his poor production only rushing for 43 yards on 13 carries. Scotchn will need a lot more production out of the superstars in order to compete this year."
lwinmin's Ranking: 9
"ScothnWhiskers won't want to hear this, but Derrick Henry may not be the same guy we've known for the last few years. Don't get me wrong, I still expect the Yeti to have some monster games and compete to be an RB1 for the season. Kyren Williams, AJ Brown, Zay Flowers, and Hurts are going to need to continue to stay solid and the team may need to find another guy or 2 either through FA, trades, or injury if they want to compete for the title this year."
Dirty Mike & The Boys (HartyPGA) [2-3]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 12
"ARich suffers yet another injury early and looks like he is going to miss at least 4 week. Bijan looked like a non superhuman rookie (and got outplayed by AJ Dillon). Collins had one of his worst games of the season and Darnell Mooney just watched DJ Moore get all the points. The brightside of the game was LaPorta looking like a stud and when your TE is the highest scoring guy on the team, your team might have issues.
Dirty Mike, time to give The Boys a good pep talk because they are literally Boys playing against Men."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 9
"Dirty Mike and The Boys wanted to take the week off after putting up over 130 points last week. It has been a back-and-forth season for Dirty Mike who over the past 4 weeks has been putting up either over 100 points, or under 80 points, with nothing in between. AR15 took a hit and might be out for an extended period of time. It can’t be a good week if the rookie TE is the highest scoring player on the team. LaPorta put up 18 points on 3 catches but 2 TDs. AJ Dillon went 76 yards on 20 carries but managed to stumble into the endzone for a respectable week. Mr. Irrelevant put up 34 points on the bench, but that still would not have been enough for a win. Disappointing week from The Boys who look to turn it around in week 6 with another 100+ point performance."
lwinmin's Ranking: 10
"Sam Laporta and Bijan Robinson. 2 awesome guys to build around. Not to mention Drake London, Brock Purdy, and Nico Collins. Dirty Mike has some pretty nice young guys on his team. I don't think they are enough to carry this team this season, but if he can build around them he may have a nice team coming up in the next year or so."
1-Putt Nine (GhostDad77) [1-4]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 10
"Yes, 1-Putt has the worst record in the league, but this team is fighting. A hard fought battle against the #1 ranked team with multiple players giving the team a fighting chance. Meyers was a happy guy to welcome back, Pacheco continued his above average performances, Downs and Samuel balled out. The deciding factor came down to coach deciding to bench their best TE and play Hunter Henry instead. Henry put up a wild goose egg while Goedert came to life and put up a performance that few TEs in the league can do.
So, worst record but putting up more of a fight than the ones ranked lower."
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 12
"An extremely good week out of GhostDad will unfortunately result in a loss as they faced the hottest team in the league right now. 1-Putt Nine saw a goose egg from the TE slot with Dallas Goedert putting up 21 points on the bench. Such a simple switch would have resulted in a dub from GhostDad this week. Making the wrong start/sit decision has to be the toughest part of fantasy football. Curtis Samuel, Josh Downs, Jakobi Meyers, Gabe Davis, and Isiah Pacheco all had respectable weeks outproducing their projections. This team doesn’t feature too much star power, but they are still able to compete on a weekly basis."
lwinmin's Ranking: 11
"Ghost Dad is sitting at 1-4 on the season and almost pulled out a victory last week. They would have beaten 8 other teams in the league. Goff, Gabe Davis, Goedert, Jakobi Meyers, and Josh Downs all had really nice performances. The problem with the roster is that they don't have that 1 guy who really scares you. Maybe Pierce could develop into a guy like that, but if they don't find a piece or 2 soon they may be looking to build for next season."
ShivaBlasts (jwv7244) [2-3]
Grrouchie's Ranking: 11
"Playing a mix of young kids and intereDessting vets, ShivaBlasts came up short with a lot of underperformances. Stroud is promising and might be near the top of the league in a couple of years but came up short this week. Lamb couldn't get it going Atwell got saved by a TD and Roshown Johnson didn't get much time to actually play. Addison and Waller look like forces to be reckoned with but Coach Blasts left their best player for the week on the bench - The Meanacing Desmond Riddle me this (why wasn't I started) Batman?"
BaileyOwen's Ranking: 11
"Not a very good week from ShivaBlasts as they were the 2nd lowest scoring team on the week. Stroud was good but not great, the RBs McKinnon and Roschon didn’t really see the ball, and then none of the pass catchers went off. There should be an increase in volume for Addison going forward with Jefferson being sidelined for a minimum of 4 weeks. Waller saw 11 targets which was encouraging, but Shiva needed just a little over 4 more points from the squad and wasn’t able to do it. How competitive can this team be with names like McKinnon, Atwell, and Lazard in the starting lineup? This team looks more competitive when there are no bye weeks to worry about."
lwinmin's Ranking: 12
"Honestly, I don't hate this roster. Lamb, White, Lazard, and Mckinnon have all been a little disappointing to start the year. Jordan Addison may become the #1 in Minnesota with JJ out. And Roschon may get some more opportunity with Herbert injured. At the very least this squad has some guys to believe in and build around."
