2022 Season Finale Rankings

NotGreatBob (NotGreatBob) [7-7]

Change From Last Week: +5

Slattery's Ranking: 1

"Now that the Cinderella story of 2023 is over, NotGreatBob can at least brag about being on top of the mountain for an entire off-season. What's crazy is about half way through the season, it seemed like NotGreatBob took the steps to sell out in order to compete in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, but little did the league know that there was a method to Bob's madness. Now we all get to see how this team reloads for a run to defend the 2022 title, and I for one am incredibly excited to see how the 2023 season plays out for NotGreatBob."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 1

"NotGreatBob is a trojan horse. Leading the league to believe that they are missing the playoffs and rebuilding. Leading the league to believe that they don't have a chance. Throwing players at the Scumdogs Coach to woo away Chase (I'm not bitter, nope, not one bit) and then when all the chips are on the table NotGreatBob says - FOOLED YOU SUCKERS and proves to be the truly great team in the league this past season.

Mac Jones and Derek Carr?  Championship QBs now.

Traded away JT and Kamara and won a championship with Brian Robinson and Haskins!!!

Old Men catching passes in Keenen Allen, Lockett and Mike Evans (Mike F'n Evans blowing up championship week to put NGB Over the Top (Stalone would be proud) and holding that championship trophy.

Yes, Coaching and team work are more important than big names and splashy moves.  Not Great Bob, you truly are a work of art and now the target is on your back.

Congratulations to Not Great Bob and ScotchNWhiskers for sneaking into the playoffs with a .500 record and the last two spots only to SCHOOL the rest of the league.

I bow down at your GREATness, Bob."

ScotchnWhiskers (mark2law) [7-7]

Change From Last Week: +2

Slattery's Ranking: 2

"The first runner up is usually labeled "the first loser", followed quickly by "see, I told you it was a fluke". Here's the deal with this second place team - this run was not a fluke and I would not be surprised to see this team here in the dance again next year. Mark2law has one of the most deadly stacks in the league in Hurts and Brown, a lot of pieces that were injured for the championship game that could have lead this team to a decisive win, and a bunch of really talented young WRs that should dominate for the next 3-7 years. ScotchnWhiskers should be proud of the season they had in 2022, and should also be a force in 2023."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 2

"Sneaking into the playoffs with a 7-7 record ScotchnWhiskers was lead by an amazing season from Jalen Hurts. Playmakers in most every position helped to balance out the rest of the team. Dalvin Cook, AJ Brown, Amari Cooper and DK Metcalf all helped to anchor this super impressive championship run.

There is an old saying that says you should never underestimate someone because that is when they truly surprise you and this is the playoff team I underestimated. At no point did I give them a chance to make it to the championship game and yet here we are!

2nd place might not have been the outcome they were looking for but this team truly came together and made a run at the right time. The Bengals of our league, get hot and smoke some opponents.

Looking ahead to next year Scotch has their 1st round pick to keep getting better and the core of their team is young and has the potential to keep getting better.

Will they be able to repeat next year and make it back to the big game?  It might come down to Cook and Allgeier being reliable for another season!"

codycast (codycast) [10-4]

Change From Last Week: -2

Slattery's Ranking: 3

"I really hope Codycast doesn't spend all offseason thinking "what could have been". Over the entire course of the season, this team had arguably two down weeks, it just hurt that one of those down weeks happened in the semifinal game. Assuming the offseason and the draft falls a certain way, there should be very little to keep this team from dominating again in 2023. The only question that needs to be asked is 'will Codycast break the 2,000 PF mark in 2023?'"

Grrouchie's Ranking: 3

"Codycast finished tied with the Scumdogs at 10-4 and after a rocky start to the season were an absolute FREIGHT TRAIN. By far the highest scoring team in the league, at some points it seemed pre determined that Codycast was going to be drinking booze out of the trophy (is that a thing? or only in Hockey?) to finish the season.

Joe Burrow is the future of the league and Ekeler continued his dominance. Sanders had his best season in the league and then there is the real talent on Team Codycast.

Diggs, Adams, and Hill. 3 of the top WR in the entire league wrecked havoc week in and week out while slapping teams around like red-headed step children.

Codycast enters 2023 with some amazing top level talent but no prime draft capital to get better so they have to question if their aging elite talent can pound out a couple more seasons of being the best or if they are going to be in a forced rebuild soon?

I think the rebuild is put off for another couple of years.

Also of note, 2 years ago Cody, Scum and 1-Putt all joined the league at the same time and Codycast is the clear cream of the crop currently.

Congratulations on a great season even if it ended in a failed run."

Pads (Pads) [11-3]

Change From Last Week: -1

Slattery's Ranking: 4

"With a health Tua and Cooper Kupp, Pads' season probably would have ended very differently than it did. Outside of the tight end position, there are not a lot of holes on this roster, and it's easy to see how it won the regular season. A good draft and one or two offseason trades to help with depth will go a LONG way, but don't get the idea that Pads' window slammed shut because of one poor playoff game."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 4

"Pads started the year as the number 1 teams and continued that for the entire season until it all fell apart in the playoffs.  This team performed so consistently that it was hard to ever envision them losing.  Not having an elite QB didn't slow this team.  Losing a top 3 WR didn't slow them down. Having to rely on young players and they kept chugging along and churning out wins, staying ranked as the #1 team and finishing the season with the best record with only 3 loses.

Entering 2023 the expectations are huge and Pads is looking for revenge.

Tua might be out of the concussion protocol by then.

McCaffrey proved he still has the juice (or was on enough Juice) to be a factor week in and week out.

Etienne is a rising star. Waddle is a modern day Speedy Gonzolas. Watson caught fire and flashed WR 1 potential for the back half of the year. Stevenson broke out and won't have to deal with Harris splitting carries. Kupp will be coming back and Skylar Thompson will hopefully NOT START ANY MORE GAMES.

The Pads Revenge tour kicks off in just a few months, and they have 2 1st round picks to load up on young potential again."

Scumdogs (grrouchie) [10-4]

Change From Last Week: -3

Slattery's Ranking: 5

"Oh Scumdogs, (in my opinion) you win the 2022 Icarus award as you flew a little too close to the Sun for your own good. Being 7th in the league in points for, 10th in the league in max points for, and having the lowest points allowed for the 2022 season paint a very interesting picture for Grrouchie's 10-4 team. With all that being said, there were some very impressive moves that Grrouchie made during the 2022 season that will make or break the longevity of this team. A healthy Jonathan Taylor and Breece Hall could be just what Scumdogs needs in 2023 to go the distance."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 5

"The Scumdogs are a team of promise and finished the season at 10-4.  Never really being one of the top 2 teams due to erratic performance but always feeling like they could break out and run the table.

That is, until management took over and made a million questionable moves.

Trading away Chase was a dumb move that did not pan out the way they anticipated. JT and Kamara never gained traction and we are left questioning if their best years are behind them.

Swift is close to breaking out completely and also close to being irrelevant because Williams is a td machine.

Joe Mixon could have to find  a new team, James Conner might be on the same career path.

The Scumdogs coach threw everything they had at getting potential Game Changing RBs and it backfired horribly and now looking at 2023 the Scumdogs are left wondering if they have enough receiving talent to carry them to the playoffs again or if they are going to watch  their running backs IMPLODE again.

Oh dark lord of fantasy football, please bless this team with healthy league winning RB performances that will carry them to victory in the regular season and in the post season. Please stop letting them get destroyed by weak teams like the current champion Not-Great-Bob and other playoff teams with more consistent performances and better coaches.

Please stop letting the owner have a couple beers and go on a trading binge which the entire face of the roster is reconstructed within a 1 or 2 week period and for the love of all that is TOUCHDOWN please let Kyler play an entire season fully healthy, even if that season is 2024.

Amen"

PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE (lwinman) [8-6]

Change From Last Week: -1

Slattery's Ranking: 6

"Everything that could go right for Prestige Worldwide went right. Sold off some aging assets right before the playoffs for some future picks? CHECK. One of the replacements for those assets balling out to put you in playoffs? CHECK. A good draft in 2023 along with Sean Payton fixing Russel Wilson will lead to this relatively young and talented team making lots of noise in 2023. Running back will be the biggest need for this team to succeed, though."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 6

"Prestige finished 7-7 and grabbed the last playoff spot for the league. The team ran with Dak because Wilson and Wentz both disappointed more than a poor person at a strip club.

Running back was not the strong point at the end of the year with Mostert (over performed expectations) and Mattison who is always second fiddle to Cook.

However, they have some amazing WR talent that could keep this team competitive for a long long time.

DJ Moore is amazing (depending on who is throwing the ball). Mike Williams is part time elite and part time why did I start him. Hollywood and Pittman could be the future of the league and DPJ has a promising future with the Massage Marauder throwing him the ball.

Much like 1-Putt, this team teeters on the line of playoffs or fodder but managed to break through this year.

How Prestigious will 2023 be? Will they take ass-whoopins Worldwide?"

1-Putt Nine (GhostDad77) [7-7]

Change From Last Week: =0

Slattery's Ranking: 9

"1-Putt is in a very interesting spot. On the surface, there is no one on this roster (outside of arguably Chubb) that is a bonafide stud, but nearly everyone on this roster contributed in a very positive way in 2022 and this roster might have some of the best/most well rounded depth in the league. However, that probably isn't enough to win a 'ship in this league, as almost every other roster in the league has multiple players that can really boom and win the week. GhostDad77 has some soul searching to do, because they have to figure out how to get some more high end talent on this roster as1-Putt Nine could be one of the most dangerous teams in the league if they add just one big WR and one big RB."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 7

"1-Putt Nine teetered on the brink of not mattering and then you look up at the final rankings and they finished at 7-7 barely missing out on the playoffs due to points scored.

Looking at their roster you aren't scared and you feel like there are enough weaknesses that you should be able to out perform them and yet they just kept fighting like that scrappy team that would not give up.

Going into 2023 there is a lot of promise based on the finish but there are also a bunch of players where you want to know if they are the real deal or if they are going to let them down.

Goff has never been consistent and Geno Smith had his first good year in the decade he has been in the NFL. Justin Herbert underperformed all year long and you have to question if he is the real deal and this was an outlier season.

Nick Chubb is an amazing talent but might be stuck on the wrong team. Pierce out performed expectations but is on a team that isn't putting up yards and points.

Chark will probably end up on a new team, JuJu played well but the offense runs through Kelce. 1-Putt Nine would not surprise anyone if they ended up in the playoffs but also, could just as easily be in the bottom 3. This is the hardest roster for me to analyze and predict for the next few years.

Way to be ambiguous."

Fuzzy Logic (Slattery) [6-8]

Change From Last Week: +1

Slattery's Ranking: 8

"This season for Fuzzy could easily be summed up in two ways - 1. A tale of two halves and 2. Injuries galore. While I won't bore y'all with ALL my personal opinions about my own season, I will say this: this team is truly boom or bust. It has the firepower to go against anyone else in the league, and there are some truly high upside players on the bench that barely played in 2022 (Toney and Jamo, for starters). Unfortunately, because some of those high upside players didn't get their time in the starting spots, depth, injuries, and poor start/sit decisions cost Fuzzy down the stretch. There is only one person to blame for this team not making it to the championship game, and that person is the same person who is writing this blurb."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 8

""The Fuzzy Logic's finished 1 game out of the playoffs. The ball literally bounced the wrong way and because of that they got to watch and drink heavily from the sidelines instead of participating. This is a roster that was poised for a deep run in the playoffs but they had the worst luck. Mahomes and Kelce (even if acquired late), Jones, Higgins, Kirk and TJ Hockenson. Lots of talent, lots of wasted potential.

This roster has the talent to be good for a long time but their PRIME might have been this year with Kelce and Jones age.

Biggest areas of concern is the supporting cast. Foreman, Murray and McLaurin are all questionable for the future and possibly need replaced. Maybe they can Trade Mahomes or Fields to bring in some more high level talent and make that run next year.

Can Jameson Williams, Javonte Williams and Antonio Gibson take their talent and promise and turn this team into  huge winners in 2023?"

Michael Scott's Tots (BaileyOwen) [5-9]

Change From Last Week: +1

Slattery's Ranking: 7

"The three peat that no one cares about just happened, and it was all on the backs of the Joshes. Well, not ALL on the backs of the Joshes. A few (young) studs at WR and TE helped tremendously in the stretch, along with newly acquired Cam Akers and Brandon Aiyuk. Depending on Josh Jacobs' landing spot in 2023 as well as what the Bears do at RB in the offseason, Michael Scott's Tots could have all the ammo they need to push for a run in 2023 already on their team; a top half draft pick in 2023 plus the 1.13 overall will only add to this team's already loaded roster of weapons."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 10

"Michael Scott's Tots was a couple of game swings away from being a contender as they finished at 5-9. Josh Allen is arguably the top QB in the league and last year Josh Jacobs was the best RB and those two kept the Tots in every game. Stealing Cam Akers late from the Scumdogs looks like it could be a potential swinging point in 2023 to solidify this RB group. And then there is the ultra young and talented WR core.  DeVonta Smith, Wilson, Pickens and Aiyuk. Throw in some Kittle and you got a team that, on paper, is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

If this team can add some good bench pieces for bye weeks and injuries then I feel this is as sure of a playoff bet (in 2023) as there is next year. They have a 1st and 2nd waiting to add some more studs and in 2024 the Tots have 3 1st round picks and 2 2nds to bolster this emerging team. You could be looking at the future of the league right here folks!"

Delta Squad (OneTyrell) [6-8]

Change From Last Week: -2

Slattery's Ranking: 10

"This was truly a weird year for Delta Squad. This team's roster always seemed ready to compete with anyone in the league (Codycast included at times), but thanks to different peak performance times for individual players, season ending injuries, and underperforming studs, Delta Squad could never quite close out important games when they mattered. Personally, I think this team has one major weakness, WR depth, and some midseason trades in 2022 hurt this team more than they helped (especially in the long run), but that's why you can't crown a winner or loser on a trade until well after the trade happened. Personal opinions aside, this much I know is true: Delta Squad is absolutely loaded with high end talent, and if all the talent on this roster plays to their potential, this team should easily make the playoffs in 2023."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 9

"The Delta Squad had an up and down season at 6-8 and stayed competitive until the very end. With a mix of good youth and savy veterans this team has the pedigree to compete in 2023 with some key additions.

TLaw took a huge step forward and is showing flashes of his true potential.  Barkley came back from the dead after dealing with injuries for multiple years and looks to be a beast again. The Sun God, James Cook , Najee Harris and Tony Pollard are all young studs and building blocks

Delta Squad needs Pitts to finally break out and be a dominant TE and then needs someone to step up in place of Thielen, Hollins and Elliot.

Armed with only a 1st round pick (early) it looks like the Delta Squad might be another year away unless they have some sleepers.

In this ultra competitive league you are either improving or about to get eaten by the hungry dogs under you and 2023 could go either way for the Delta Squad!"

Dirty Mike & The Boys (Magnum1Delta) [4-10]

Change From Last Week: +1

Slattery's Ranking: 11

"While there wasn't a lot for Dirty Mike to get excited about during the 2022 season, there is some optimism for 2023 and beyond. Jahan Dotson, Drake London, and Daniel Bellinger showed a lot of promise as rookies, Isiah Pacheco definitely passed the eye test when he was on the field, all while JK Dobbins and Chris Godwin showed they still have juice after their 2021 injuries. This roster is easily the youngest roster in the league, and the core starters will only get better as they get experience. Having two first round picks in the 2023 draft will help a lot as well, especially if one of those first round picks is used on Bijan Robinson or one of the other RB studs coming into the league"

Grrouchie's Ranking: 11

"Finished 4-10 with the lowest scoring offense in the league Dirty Mike & The Boys stayed at the bottom of the league in 2022.

Another team with a lot of interesting youth for the next season DM&TB could be poised to take a step forward in this ultra competitive league.

Daniel Jones took a step forward this year and led a team with no weapons to the playoffs. JK Dobbins really had a bad year due to injury (his and others) and is one of the best pure runners in the league. Godwin started the season injured and took a long time to get going, but by the end of the season he got there.

That leaves us with Drake London and Isiah Pacheco who both are going to be expected to take a big step forward for DM&TB next year.   There is also some fun talent on the bench that could help a quick turn around, Dotson, Robinson, Mooney and potentially Keaontay Ingram.

DM&TB also has two 1st round picks to help speed up this rebuild and I think Dirty Mike is going to be making some noise next year."

ShivaBlasts (jwv7244) [3-11]

Change From Last Week: -1

Slattery's Ranking: 12

"For being in 12th place in my rankings, I feel incredibly optimistic about ShivaBlasts' future. Having some capital 's' STUDS in Kenneth Walker and CeeDee Lamb, a serviceable when healthy option at Tight End in Darren Waller, and a few young high upside players to fill out some of those flex positions, Shiva could be making some serious noise as early as next season. Heck, this team even completed a few upsets throughout the year, showing the upside the core of this roster has. While this might not be the most talented roster in the league, it could be the roster that makes the biggest surprise jump in 2023 while also being the most fun to watch this offseason."

Grrouchie's Ranking: 12

"Ending the season at 3-11 with a negative 400 point differential between PF and PA the ShivaBlasts ultimately ended the season right where they began it, in dead last.

However, all is not lost as as they have a lot of up and coming talent looking to make a change in 2023.

Walker leads the way as he looks like he could be a top Dynasty RB for the next few years. White should be assuming more of a role and getting more play time hopefully after the Bucs dump Playoff Lenny. CeeDee Lamb is already a top WR and looks to keep dominating for a long stretch and Darren Waller is a beast who had a lost year due to injuries.  All of this can be built around to make 2023 a much better season than 2022.

With a 1st round pick and Desean Watson having at least the potential to become a Mid-to-Top tier QB again the ShivaBlasts are looking to be much more competitive this coming season."

Editor's note: In the event that rankers' averages are the same between teams, the following tie breakers are used in the following order to determine position in the rankings: Win/Loss ratio, total points scored, total potential points, total points against
